November 2021 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

I am reminded this November to reflect on what I am thankful for. This last year has shown your commitment to our organization and mission. Please know how thankful we are for each and every one of you, and for your dedication throughout this past year to help us move our mission forward.

We are so thankful for our dedicated Board of Directors, our esteemed Professional Advisory Council, our amazing volunteers, and the entire apraxia community that we have the privilege of serving. Each day, we are surrounded by the support of this expansive network of individuals working together to make a difference in the lives of children with apraxia of speech.

Apraxia Kids kicked off 2021 with the hope of some normalcy, especially with bringing back in-person events such as our Walks and National Conference. Although we were not able to be together in person, 825 parents, professionals, and students from across the globe were able to form connections with each other at our first Virtual National Conference that educated the community about childhood apraxia of speech. Our Walk for Apraxia events took on a hybrid approach, with some events happening in person, all while providing a safe virtual experience for our families who could not attend in person. Through all of these obstacles, you stood by us and for that, we are extremely grateful.

As we enter this season of giving, we are happy to share the application for our Speech Tablets for Apraxia program, and in the new year, we will be sharing our scholarship application for the 2022 National Conference. These programs afford our families the resources needed as they navigate their apraxia journey, and would not be possible without the continued commitment and generosity of our community.

Thank you for being a part of our organization and our family. Thank you for your dedication to raising awareness. Thank you for investing in our future by donating to fund our programs and services. Thank you for standing alongside us as we work to realize our shared vision, a world where every child with apraxia of speech reaches their highest communication potential.

With endless gratitude,

Angela Grimm
Executive Director
