It’s hard to believe we are exactly one month away from Apraxia Awareness Month! We have been working hard to help you celebrate all month long. Be sure to follow us on social media to participate every day. You can view our Awareness Month Calendar here.
Our theme for 2024 is: We Are Apraxia Kids. What does this mean? Apraxia Kids is more than just our small staff of eleven – it includes our entire apraxia community! Next month you will get to hear from volunteers, families, SLPs, our Board of Directors, our PAC members, and of course our Apraxia Stars! Thank YOU for being a huge part in our WE!
It is time for YOU to officially start getting ready for Apraxia Awareness Month. Here are four things you can do this month to turn May BLUE!
Have you filed a proclamation in your area yet? File a proclamation for your state, providence, county, or city! A proclamation is a public or official announcement issued by your local government. Our community files proclamations every year to make May 14th Apraxia Awareness Day. Most areas require a few weeks to process so be sure to file yours today! Now is also the time to order your Apraxia Awareness gear to wear in May! Our brand new store is filled with new apparel, yard signs and accessories. We even have 2024 Apraxia Awareness shirts so you can join in our theme of “We Are Apraxia Kids”. We have sizes from newborn through adult so include your whole family in on the fun! By showing off your apraxia gear, you never know who you might start a conversation with!
Every year we also create an Apraxia Awareness frame for your social media profile pictures. This year we are here to help you create your profile picture, simply fill out this survey and we will email you the final profile picture within a week! Simply sharing #ApraxiaAwareness on your social media profile will help spread awareness to countless friends and family. Show off your support all month long!
Now is also the time to order your Be the Voice Kit! We have kits tailored to your needs to help you fundraise, raise awareness in your child’s classroom, and even ones for SLPs! Order yours by April 15th to get yours by Apraxia Awareness Day!
