Describe treatment approach used: The programs I use are the Let’s Start Talking (LST)™ and Let’s Talk Clearly (LTC)™ Programs developed by Dr. Megan Hodge at the University of Alberta. The programs are based on a synthesis of relevant theory of principles of “best practice”, and Dr. Hodge’s knowledge and expertise regarding assessment and treatment for preschool and school‐aged children with persisting speech disorders who are suspected to have a motor speech component.

The overall goal is for the child to increase functional communication by increasing how much others understand, as well as increasing the “acceptability” of the child’s overall communication within social contexts.

The overall goal for parents is to provide them with techniques, skills and confidence to support their child’s speech skill development and spoken language development.

The general timeline / framework for delivering LST & LTC is as follows (14 weeks):
‐Pre‐treatment assessment (with both parent and child)
‐Two caregiver sessions; one teacher session
‐Child and parent‐focused intervention (45 min, 2X/week, for 10 weeks)
‐Post treatment assessment
‐teacher training sessions
‐Parent training sessions
‐IPP collaboration and goal selection (with the school team)
‐detailed report

Describe parent/caregiver involvement:
Present at the assessment sessions (pre‐post)
Twice per week of therapy, for 10 weeks (20 sessions)
2 "parent only" sessions (2 hours total)
Parents select their own goals and work in collaboration with the SLP to achieve these goals by the end of the 14 weeks.
2 “School team” sessions (1‐2 hours)
Teacher and parents to fill out various “rating scales” (pre‐post measures)
