I typically recommend multi-sessions per week for 30 minutes. My treatment approach is motor-learning based and focuses on teaching and facilitating the accurate motor movements using simultaneous productions and model/imitation with multi-sensory cues and feedback as necessary. I set a small target word inventory comprised of multiple syllable shapes depending upon the patient's severity.
Monkey Mouths has sponsored the Dallas Walk for Apraxia. I have spoken on Sound Card System to parents more than a dozen times.
Parents attend all therapy sessions and are given weekly home programs with specific word approximation tasks geared to patient's ability and functional needs. Parents receive education towards augmentative communication as well.
I have used PECs (with and without words), PODD, Dynavox, LAMP and Proloque for patients depending upon age, severity and comfort of parents.
