I utilize early, intensive intervention with combined use of AAC if necessary or supportive while using DTTC and establishing a functional and highly personal vocbulary.
I currently network with and support multiple families who are active within the galactosemia and apraxia communities. I follow and support ongoing updates via the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and access research resources available through special interest groups.
Parents are directly involved in planning treatment with me by identifying favorites, needs inventories and words that are difficult or frustrating as well as by reviewing sound inventories. I individualize therapy and practice for each family based on each family and child's background.
As a RESNA certified ATP and experienced AAC consultant, I provide AAC consultations and/or evaluations for children with apraxia while simultaneously supporting their spoken language. I integrate use of AAC to support and repair for inteligibility ro reduce communication frustration and allow children to continue to expand their morphological and semantic development to prevent future difficulties in the absence of speech production to support such grammatical morphemes and expanded utterances.
