Overall Treatment Approach:

I have so much fun working with my clients and each child’s therapy is customized to meet their needs. My overall treatment approach is heavily influenced by DTTC, is multisensory, and is play-based in nature. I make treatment activities very engaging for my clients and something they are highly motivated by in order to get the maximum amount of repetitions.

Community Involvement:

Over the past several years, I have been involved in trainings on CAS and being a consult for other Early Intervention Therapists in my community. I have held several presentations to providers about the identification, diagnosis and treatment for kids that may have suspected motor planning issues. I am often called in for challenging clients when therapists are unsure of treatment. I provide guidance to those therapists with on ongoing dialogue of next steps.

Parent Involvement:

Parents are involved from the very beginning. I get blocks of practice with the child in order to model a skill and then I will encourage the parents to try some of the prompting themselves. We will then brainstorm ways that they can get some of the target repetitions throughout their day in between sessions.

AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:

I will use signs and pictures for low tech in order to supplement language as we are working on motor planning skills. I will refer out for high tech devices if needed.
