November 2022 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

On behalf of our Staff and Board of Directors, we are so grateful for each of you and your continued support of our mission. Together, we are a strong community supporting one another every day.

Coming back together in person this year for our National Conference and Walk for Apraxia events was monumental. Seeing old friends and meeting new ones brought renewed hope to our cause. Knowing that we continue to have the support of the community is inspiring to the work we do each day.

As we continue to plan for 2023, our Call for Papers for the National Conference is open. We will be looking for presentations that cover a wide range of topics related to childhood apraxia of speech across all age ranges, diversified populations, severity, and comorbidities; focusing on the whole child. Our application to apply for our Intensive Training Institute (Apraxia Kids Boot Camp) is open as well. This is a great opportunity for speech-language pathologists to boost their clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood apraxia of speech. Although most of our in-person Walk for Apraxia events are coming to a close, you can still register as a virtual participant if you missed your local Walk event. All of our Walk for Apraxia events continue to fundraise until the end of the year.

As we enter this season of giving, we are happy to share the application for our Speech Tablets for Apraxia program, soon to be followed by Conference Scholarship application in January.  Programs like these are provided free of charge to our families and would not be possible without the continued commitment and generosity of our community.

Thank you for being a part of our organization and furthering the mission of Apraxia Kids.  Together, we are partners, standing alongside each other with a shared vision, a world where every child with apraxia of speech reaches their highest communication potential.

We are so thankful to have such an incredible community behind us and our Apraxia Stars. Your support is crucial in helping us realize our vision. Giving Tuesday is right around the corner on Tuesday, November 29th. We hope that you will invest in the voices of tomorrow by making a donation.

With endless gratitude,

Angela Grimm
