March 2023 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

We are so excited to kick off the month of March and share all of the great things we have been working on with each of you.

With just two months to go until May, preparations for Apraxia Awareness Month are in full swing. There is still time to file a proclamation for Apraxia Awareness Day (May 14th) in your state, province, city, and/or municipality. If you are interested in filing a proclamation, please fill out our brief survey and we will be in touch regarding next steps. Our 2023 Awareness Month social media calendar is now available on our website and our Apraxia Awareness T-Shirt and yard sign are available for purchase in our store. These are the perfect items to spread awareness and show your support of children with CAS. In addition, we encourage you to order your Be the Voice kit by April 1st if you are planning an awareness or fundraising event for May.

Spring is coming and the 2023 Walk for Apraxia season has officially begun! Event registration has opened for many of our Walks with more being added each week. We hope you will register to join us in celebrating our Apraxia Stars for FREE! We encourage you to share the link with your family, friends, and community. Your participation in the Walk is important to help strengthen the apraxia community by connecting with other families and professionals and raising funds to support the programs and resources offered by Apraxia Kids for our apraxia stars.

Mark your calendars! We are pleased to announce that registration for the 2023 National Conference, taking place in Plano, Texas, will begin on Thursday March 9th. In addition to our in-person conference, we will once again offer a virtual registration option with limited sessions for those unable to travel. Our priority is to provide this opportunity to as many members of our community as possible. When registration opens, we will share the link to the conference hotel. There are a limited number of rooms available at the conference hotel, so we encourage you to register early to take advantage of the special rate. For additional conference information such as registration fees, continuing education credits, and more, please visit our FAQ.

Special Announcement for those who read all the way to the bottom of the newsletter!! Our 2024 National Conference will take place back in our hometown, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Save the date for July 11-13, 2024!!

We are so lucky to have such a supportive community working together to further the mission of Apraxia Kids. I hope that we can count on you to help us make a difference this spring by participating in several of our upcoming events.

Thank you for your continued commitment to Apraxia Kids.
