Describe treatment approach used: DTTC for young/severe children. Combination of approaches (multimodal, ReST) for older and more verbal children. Inclusion of sound-pattern-related goals for older/more verbal children who have phonological pattern errors.
For children of any age, emphasis on functional vocabulary to efficiently increase ability to communicate with others.
Careful consideration of principles of motor learning adjusted to as needed based on child's progress.

Describe parent/caregiver involvement: Parents are encouraged to observe and participate when possible and practical. They may otherwise observe sessions via remote camera. We also share videos on flash drives to be reviewed at home on occasion. Parents are given home practice suggestions at every session and asked for feedback at the beginning of every session (or at least once per week) about what went well and what didn't go so well since last session.

Describe your past and current involvement in the Apraxia community? I became involved in Apraxia-Kids via the early internet listserv and have been involved with CASANA ever since. I have facilitated a local support group. Currently, I am a member of several CASANA-related Facebook groups, and comment occasionally. I have been involved in presenting webinars, workshops, and other types of training for fellow SLPs, and that is ongoing, including presentations/training in Australia, Canada, and Austria.
