Describe treatment approach used: I use a highly evidence-based approach to therapy. I prefer the Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) approach for more severe cases of children with limited nonverbal output and the Rapid Syllable Transition approach (ReST) for children who are more verbal. I target motor speech skills in linguistic contexts with continual emphasis on functional communication for social and academic success by incorporating phonological awareness, narrative and question formulation activities.

Describe parent/caregiver involvement: Parents are always involved. I discuss with them the diagnosis and treatment plan in depth and incorporate the basic principles of counseling. Parents collaborate on homework and carry-over activities. I prefer parents to be in the room during treatment.

Describe your past and current involvement in the Apraxia community? I am a graduate of the CASANA Intensive Training (Boot Camp) program. I have participated in several CASANA walks over the years. I give 2-3 workshops per year for practicing clinicians and several information sessions for families. I also offer review of records and free advice to parents in need of support
