Describe treatment approach used: - Select target words (how many to start with will depend on severity, but probably starting with around 5-10 words) that contain existing sounds and/or word shapes
- Choose targets that are obtainable, and also functional/meaningful
- Use principles of motor learning to determine how practice will be organized
- Heir on the side of more intense, shorter sessions, more frequently
- Aim for maximal practice in sessions
- Utilize principles from Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) to facilitate target (e.g., direct imitation, simultaneous production)
- Use any and all cueing systems to elicit the targets with movement accuracy!!
- Practice CORRECTLY!!
- 95% of my sessions are play-based where the targets are meaningful within the session. I choose materials that support meaningful production of the targets. For example, bubble play to elicit "pop" "go" "mine" "up" etc.

Describe parent/caregiver involvement: Choosing targets: parents are the experts on their own children; they are insightful about what motivates them, what is meaningful to them, etc. Parents are involved in helping choose target/stimuli for the seasons (e.g., names of pets/friends, favorite toys/games, etc).

Practice: once movement accuracy is achieved for a target, I will give the parents a list of words to incorporate at home. If we are targeting movement patterns (e.g. rounding), I will work with them to think of contexts outside of the clinic where those targets can be practiced.

If possible for parents to attend the treatment session, I may work with a parent on "what to look for" and how to cue certain sounds that they could then work on at home.
