I try to make therapy enjoyable for the child while making significant progress. This includes selecting treatment targets/activities with thoughtfulness that will engage the child while producing the maximum number of repetitions possible to install new motor pathways.
I like the parents to attend each session and I give them practice words and how to cue their child at home so they can get good practice when they are not at therapy.
I am currently on the Utah Assistive Technology Team for the local school district. This has given me a deep knowledge of using AAC to support both non-speaking students and children with CAS.
