My overall treatment approach with CAS is to use a combined motor programming and linguistic approach with embedded social-pragmatic experiences and supports, as well as use of sensory cuing and rhythmic approaches, dependent upon the needs of the child. Consideration of AAC options and supports would also be part of the ongoing diagnostic -treatment approach. The level of frequency and intensity would be in line with best practice recommendations, however, determination of the needs and availability of the family may justify being creative with service provisions using collaborative efforts with the child’s family or other involved professionals.
Parents are involved in the therapy process.
AAC options and supports are a part of ongoing treatment when appropriate.
