My approach to treating apraxia is play-based and functional, grounded in the principles of DTTC. Therapy is designed to be child-centered and family-focused. Caregivers are encouraged to actively part in therapy and ongoing parent education is a core component of my treatment approach.
Family involvement is key! Parents and caregivers are actively involved in every step of therapy, with ongoing education built into each session to support progress beyond the therapy room.
I believe in supporting communication in all forms. For children with limited verbal speech, I use sign language, gestures, and AAC to help them experience the power of communication right away. I am experienced in implementing assistive technology for children of varying ages and needs, using both high-tech communication devices and low-tech picture supports as appropriate.
