Following a comprehensive assessment of a child’s speech production skills—including articulation, phonological processing, and motor speech abilities—a highly individualized treatment plan is developed. Parents are an integral part of both the assessment and treatment planning process to ensure that therapy targets functional, meaningful words that support carryover across environments.
Treatment is structured, specialized, and evidence-based, with a strong emphasis on motor-based speech principles when appropriate. Therapy sessions are designed to promote early success, build confidence, and support skill generalization through a carefully sequenced and supportive approach.
Therapy is delivered using a highly family-centered model. Family involvement does not end after the evaluation process; parents are welcomed into sessions and encouraged to actively participate throughout treatment.
Parents play a key role in selecting meaningful, functional target words that align with their child’s current motor speech abilities. This collaborative approach ensures that practice opportunities are easily embedded into daily routines, maximizing consistency, repetition, and long-term success.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), including both low-tech and high-tech systems, is used as an integral support for children with speech-language needs when appropriate. AAC provides children with immediate access to communication, allowing them to express themselves successfully while motor speech skills continue to develop.
Use of AAC supports language development, social interaction, and emotional growth, and is implemented in a way that complements—rather than replaces—ongoing speech development.
