Classroom Awareness Kit

Support a child with CAS by helping their peers and professionals at school understand apraxia. Check out the Apraxia Kids Classroom Awareness Kit available with activities and information for students and teachers. 

  • Classmates and Friends Rack Card  – This small card can be shared with students to help inform peers and their parents about apraxia.
  • Being a Great Friend Bookmark – Share with friends, peers, and staff to use as a bookmark in school or at home
  • Teacher’s Guide – This short guide can help educators learn the best ways to support their students with apraxia in the classroom.
  • Classroom Activity – Apraxia Kids Color Pages or Word Searches
  • Stickers – share with students to wear in class or to take home
  • $12 Optional Add-on – I want to be your friend – Narrated by Emma this children’s book explains apraxia from her viewpoint. She explains her feelings, all of the ways that she can communicate, and also her special interests that are just like those of the children she would like to be her friends. Written by Emma’s mother, Angela Baublitz. This book is 8″ X 8″ with 24 pages.
  • $15 Optional Add-on – Time to Sing CD – Use while engaging with young children.  Sing at home or have a sing-a-long in the classroom.  The songs are arranged by composer Michael Moricz, Music Director of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Songs are slowed down. Great for toddlers, pre-schoolers, and kindergarten aged children.
