Be the Voice: Become an Apraxia Kids Ambassador

Each May, thousands of families, speech-language pathologists, educators, students, researchers, and advocates come together to celebrate Apraxia Awareness Month. Together, we raise awareness of childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), educate our communities, and help ensure that every child has the opportunity to communicate, connect, and be understood.

In 2025, we launched our Apraxia Awareness Month Ambassador Program with a small group of dedicated volunteers. Their passion, creativity, and commitment helped expand our reach while providing valuable feedback that shaped the future of the program.

In 2026, even more ambassadors joined us, and their collective impact exceeded our expectations. They raised awareness, inspired others to get involved, and helped amplify the mission of Apraxia Kids in communities. Because of their incredible efforts, we’re excited to expand the Ambassador Program beyond Apraxia Awareness Month and invite individuals to serve as Apraxia Kids Ambassadors through the end of the year.

What Is an Apraxia Kids Ambassador?

Apraxia Kids Ambassadors are passionate volunteers who help raise awareness of childhood apraxia of speech. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, individual with CAS, speech-language pathologist, educator, student, or supporter, you can help advance the mission of Apraxia Kids in ways that fit your interests, talents, and schedule.

There isn’t just one way to be an ambassador. Every conversation, every shared story, and every act of advocacy help create greater awareness and understanding of childhood apraxia of speech.

How Our Ambassadors Made an Impact

During Apraxia Awareness Month, our ambassadors made a difference by:

• Registering for the Walk for Apraxia and rallying their network to do the same.
• Sharing Walk information throughout their communities.
• Updating their social media profiles with a custom Ambassador graphic.
• Sharing and engaging with Apraxia Kids’ social media posts.
• Writing or recording personal testimonials about their connection to CAS and how Apraxia Kids has impacted their lives.
• Hosting fundraisers benefiting Apraxia Kids.
• Participating in Ambassador Night on Zoom to share their stories and inspire others.

Every conversation, every shared post, every fundraiser, and every personal story helped create greater understanding and acceptance of childhood apraxia of speech.

What’s Next? Become an Ambassador Through December!

We’re excited to continue building on this momentum and are looking for more passionate individuals to join our ambassador team.

As an Apraxia Kids Ambassador, you’ll receive a monthly email with opportunities to help raise awareness. We simply ask that you try to complete at least two activities each month. Some opportunities will have specific deadlines, while others will be ongoing efforts that you can complete whenever your schedule allows.

Whether you choose to share information on social media, participate in fundraising, tell your story, or help promote awareness in your community, every effort makes a difference.

Together, we can continue creating awareness, inspiring acceptance, educating communities, and helping every child with childhood apraxia of speech find their voice.
