Overall Treatment Approach:

My therapy approach is play-based in nature and child-lead when it comes to choosing activities. I believe in building a strong rapport with the child by engaging with them in their preferred play routines or areas of interest. I set clear expectations around speech production practice to ensure adequate trials per session while maintaining a fun learning environment.

Parent Involvement:

Parent participation is paramount to success! I always welcome parents and caregivers into our sessions and provide information as to what I am doing and why to ensure everyone is on the same page. I encourage questions and value caregiver input when selecting speech targets.

AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:

I use both low tech and high tech AAC for children with CAS. I provide visual supports to support successful communication and also complete comprehensive AAC evaluations to ensure a child has a dedicated device with appropriate training to support their use.
