These schools/programs provide a range of specialized programs and supports for students with learning disabilities, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, issues with focus and executive function, motor challenges, motor speech and language disorders, and more.

While these schools may be a great option for some children, the majority of children with CAS can receive all of the services and supports they need in their primary public school setting through their IEP. The Arkansas School for the Deaf (ASD), established in 1849, has a strong legacy, based in Little Rock: it is the only school for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in the state of Arkansas and serves as the center for Deaf Education throughout the state. Iowa School for the Deaf has been helping students thrive, both academically and socially, since 1855. ISD is a language immersion program offering both day and boarding options. We provide individualized instruction for pre-school, K-12 and 12+ students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The school is financed primarily by state funding- families do not pay for tuition, room, board or transportation. Most students are from Iowa; however, there are agreements in place with some neighboring states for out-of-state enrollment.
