We are happy to announce our new on-demand webinar library. The Apraxia Center On-Demand Webinars library enables those interested in boosting their learning about childhood apraxia of speech to purchase and view educational webinars at a time convenient to the individual. According to CASANA’s Director of Education, Kathy Hennessy, “With a wide range of topics and a world-wide audience, there was always a fair number of people who wanted to register for our live webinars, but could not due to the time constraints. I am so excited that CASANA can now also offer recorded versions of live webinars in the Apraxia Center On-Demand Webinar Library. We will continue to build the Library and add new titles every month.” Click here to access the Webinar Library.

We are currently receiving applications for the 2014 Childhood Apraxia of Speech Intensive Training Institute which will be held July 30, 2014 – August 3, 2014 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at Duquesne University’s Department of Speech-Language Pathology.  This intensive training experience is intended to provide North American-based speech-language pathologists, who already have significant experience with CAS, an opportunity to become “master” clinicians who can serve as local/regional experts and potential mentors for other clinicians. A highly competitive program, the Institute accepts only 20 candidates in the program.  Accepted applicants pay for room, board, travel, and materials, while CASANA provides over 30 hours of specialized, advanced training with three CAS Expert faculty members and ongoing professional mentoring. Funding for the specialized training and mentoring is made possible by donors and supporters of the Walk for Children with Apraxia of Speech® as well as in-kind support from the Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Duquesne University. In February 2013, CASANA held the 2013 CAS Research Symposium, bringing together the world’s top researchers and CASANA representatives to share and discuss the “state of the art” in childhood apraxia of speech research.  We are pleased to report that videos of the four scientific presentation sections are now available for viewing by all concerned with children with apraxia.  To access the videos, one must first register and then will be sent a password and link via email.  For more information, click here.  The symposium and videos were made possible thanks to funds raised through the Walk for Children with Apraxia of Speech® .
