Describe treatment approach used: My treatment approach is multi-sensory and I follow the PRISM Model to be sure to address (1) increasingly complex phoneme sequences while building a complete phoneme repertoire (2) using a variety of playful strategies to support repetitive practice to strengthen the child's attainment and automaticity of motor plans for the target utterances presented (3) providing the child (through my work, as well as the efforts of the child's school SLP or Early Intervention team) with a dosage of treatment that is intense enough to optimize motor learning, depending on the child's level of severity (4) careful selection of target utterances to support attainment of increasingly complex syllable shapes and (5) the use of multisensory cues (visual, auditory, tactile, and metacognitive) to help the child establish increasingly accurate production of treatment targets and then gradually fading these cues to reduce cue dependency and support generalization.

Describe parent/caregiver involvement: Most parents, especially parents of toddlers and preschoolers, sit in during each session and there is dialogue about why certain target utterances were chosen, as well as the cueing techniques/strategies that are proving to be most beneficial for the child to attain more accurate production of the targets. When parents are unable to sit in during the sessions, the parents are informed of the child's goals, targets, and strategies by session notes, after session discussions, and/or video. Parents are encouraged to carryover the goals in a manageable way at home depending on the circumstances of that particular family
