Describe treatment approach used: I use an eclectic approach as not every child responds to the same method of treatment. Early on, I use a combination of multisensory cues to elicit a variety of sounds and sound sequences. I use real word targets for CV, VC, and CVCV sequences. I use principles of motor learning to reinforce production. As the child progresses in therapy, I may use Melodic Intonation. I use augmentative communication in conjunction with all treatment so the child has a combination of ways to communicate. I believe communication is primary. I will use signs, natural occurring gestures, pictures and then higher tech AAC. if a child can't communicate, he/she will be unable to participate in the intensity of therapy needed for remediation

Describe parent/caregiver involvement: Parents are encouraged to watch each session through an observation room in order to observe effective techniques. Parents are instructed as to the importance of communication using any modality possible.
