At a Gift of Speech my goal is to provide FUNctional speech therapy. I incorporate books, toys, and everyday items to promote speech and language growth that is applicable outside the therapy setting. I am trained in DTTC, ReST, PROMPT, using multisensory tools and a motor planning approach in therapy. The tools that I use are dependent on the needs of your child.
I have been a part of Apraxia walks in Frisco, Dallas, and San Diego. I have also attended Apraxia Kids conferences and CAS trainings.
I believe parents are an integral part of the therapy process. I ask that parents sit in therapy when possible.
I have extensive training in the use and implementation of AAC for a variety of needs. I believe that AAC can be an integral tool for some children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech to support their speech and language growth.
