Overall Treatment Approach:
I definitely use a multi-sensory approach with my children with CAS. Depending on the child, it may include a combination of Oral Placement Therapy, Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol, Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing, PROMPT, and even some Cycles Approach to Phonology as the child progresses with therapy. I have found that it really differs from child to child and has to be fun. One of the first things I focus on is things that it is important for the child to communicate (favorite toys, foods, family members, etc.) and work toward word approximations for that.

Percent of CAS cases: 65

Parent Involvement:
Nearly all of my parents are directly involved in therapy sessions. They are directly involved in treatment by practicing and modeling techniques demonstrated in therapy sessions. They get specific home exercise programs every session of what to practice at home.

Community Involvement:
Have participated in the local Apraxia Walk. There currently is no Apraxia support group in my area.
