Overall Treatment Approach:
My treatment approach is to focus on functional communication skills. This may include using AAC while simultaneously targeting speech production. I strive to have therapy targets that are meaningful and powerful for the child. These kids experience a lot of communication failure and I want to help them experience communicative success as much and as early as possible.

Percent of CAS cases: 25

Parent Involvement:
Parents are welcome to observe or sit in on any sessions. I also involve them in home practice with their child. Most importantly, I ask the parents for their input on what targets are most important to them and their child and, if possible, work those into therapy.

Community Involvement:
I want to note that I work in a university clinic. Therefore I don't treat clients personally at this time; I supervise and oversee the treatment of client as provided by graduate SLP students in our program.
