Overall Treatment Approach:
Get the mouth moving! Integral stimulation combined with verbal and tactile cues, use of oral tactile stimulation techniques, jaw stability and tongue/jaw separation activities, jaw grading for vowel differentiation, airflow for voicing, encouraging voluntary variations of voicing: length, pitch, loudness, stimulate movements for specific sounds: lip movements, plosion, Practicing syllable shapes - accurate vowels, VC or CV syllables, CVC, VCV, polysyllables, blends as child progresses. Home program/practice required. Parents observe and participate.

Percent of CAS cases: 8

Parent Involvement:
Parents observe and/or participate in sessions depending on age of child. Under 3.5, parents typically act as models and temptations for activities. Therapy activities and/or exercises are demonstrated and parents perform exercises to be done at home. Daily practice is provided for home practice. I encourage parents to make a "Brag Book" of current vocabulary to include photos of family and home objects. May encourage the use of PECS to decrease frustration at home.

Community Involvement:
Currently, continuing education through ASHA, CSHA, Speech Pathology.com and my local SELPA.
