Overall Treatment Approach:
   Multi-Sensory Input: Use of PROMPT to facilitate motor-kinesthetic awareness, along with visual and auditory clues. David Hammer-sound metaphors providing sound “names” ( “popping” for /p/).1. Establish motivation and attention2. Establish accurate production of targets through mass/blocked practice 3. Provide feedback, gradually fade cues over time . Any spontaneous productions are immediately reinforced providing words on what was done correctly4. Slowing down speech rate and using greater vocal inflection when presenting core vocabulary words. 5. Co-articulation is important with children with apraxia. Parents are educated and attend as many sessions as possible. They are educated regarding strategies when working at home, slowing rate, “watch me” as frequently as possible is important can continue to practice complete movements. Parents are sent home with words/syllable shapes to target.
