Overall Treatment Approach:
I utilize the Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) method to the best of my ability incorporating my knowledge of PROMPT, The Kaufman Approach, sign language and other effective cues I have picked up along the way. My goals focus on both speech and language skills. I structure therapy sessions in such a way that I will typically be focusing on one particular goal during an activity but have also incorporated words or phrases/sentences that target additional goals. I use reinforcers or reinforcing activities that are relevant to the goal/goals being targeted so that practice continues to occur even during "fun" activities and there is minimal loss of valuable "work" time. For Example: during a session targeting CVC sequences with alveolar to bilabial movement the reinforcement activity may be a ball ramp where the balls have to be put on "top" and the child must "tap" them with a hammer to put them in action.

Percent of CAS cases: 25

Parent Involvement:
Treatment goals are collaborated on with parents and progress is discussed and reviewed on a weekly basis. Parents are able to observe all sessions through a two way mirror or remain in the therapy room as needed. Therapy techniques and rationale are explained and home practice ideas/activities provided. Parents are encouraged to ask questions, discuss concerns and give ideas of specific words that are relevant to the child's current interests and activities to target during sessions.

Community Involvement:
I have participated in the Central Ohio Walk for Apraxia the past 2 years and attended the National Conference in a Chicago last year, in addition to focusing on Apraxia courses for my CEUs. Last summer I requested and was awarded a grant from a local foundation to attend a couple CASANA National conferences and additional Apraxia courses.
