Overall Treatment Approach:
After completing a speech-motor evaluation, target phonemes are identified through the System Analysis Observation, Speech Motor Hierarchy and Global Domain Evaluation. The child's physical-sensory development, cognitive linguistic development, social emotional development and behavioral development is all taken into account. After careful examination of all of these domains, initial treatment goals are formulated and the PROMPT technique is utilized to improve the child's overall communication abilities. The PROMPT technique utilizes four levels of prompts; Parameter, Syllable, Complex and Surface prompts.

Parent Involvement:
AII of my parents are involved in the therapy process. I give the parents specific homework and words to target depending on the speech motor planning skills I am working on. I always educate the parents and teach them how to advocate best for their child.

Community Involvement:
I am very involved in the Apraxia community. I have been level PROMPT 2 trained for 10 years. I also hold monthly PROMPT study groups as well as support groups for parents. I own a speech clinic in lower Manhattan that services many children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech.
