Overall Treatment Approach:
I primarily use DTTC if the child is old enough. However, most of my caseload consists of preschoolers, many of whom, have limited attention skills. Although they can often imitate, getting them to attend to the face is a learning process. In this situation, I generally find what vowels, consonants and syllable shapes are within the child's repertoire and build on those. This, of course, is done within the context of play while trying to maximize the number of productions in a session.

Percent of CAS cases: 3

Parent Involvement:
-have them observe session if tolerated by the child-have them directly participate in therapy after techniques are modeled to them-provide family with homework-provide ongoing education

Community Involvement:
I was fortunate enough to be able to attend Apraxia Kids boot camp in 2016. I was able to share information I learned from boot camp with my co-workers in a "Breakfast with the Experts" presentation. In addition, I try to provide education and support co-workers as needed.I was not able to attend the Apraxia Kids walk in 2016 due to family obligations but plan to be present for the 2017 walk.
