Overall Treatment Approach:
In general, I pull from a variety of treatment strategies that have shown to be effective for the treatment of CAS, including ReST, DTTC, Kaufman, and PROMPT. I also think it's important to use other modes of communication such as AAC, sign language, and/or word approximations to allow children to communicate, which will help their confidence in speaking. Therapy is motor learning based and will typically follow a hierarchy to increase the child's phonetic and syllable shape inventory. It will include targets that are functional for the child and family as well as highly motivating for the child. Therapy is recommended several times per week for 30 minute sessions.

Percent of CAS cases: 10

Parent Involvement:
Parents attend most, if not all therapy sessions to ask questions, learn about treatment and strategies, as well as help with generalizations of skills. They will be given a home program that will change as the child progresses through therapy. They will be educated on other forms of communication, such as AAC when needed.

Community Involvement:
've participated in a Apraxia Kids walk in the past. I hope to continue to educate the community.
