Overall Treatment Approach:
My overall treatment approach with CAS is to use a combined motor programming and linguistic approach with embedded social-pragmatic experiences and supports, as well as use of sensory cuing and rhythmic approaches, dependent upon the needs of the child. Consideration of AAC options and supports would also be part of the ongoing diagnostic -treatment approach. The level of frequency and intensity would be in line with best practice recommendations, however, determination of the needs and availability of the family may justify being creative with service provisions using collaborative efforts with the child’s family or other involved professionals.
Percent of CAS cases:
Currently, my involvement with the CAS community is to refer families to local events and activities where larger networks of people gather in support of CAS. Professionally, I continuously seek out opportunities to present information on CAS to other professionals from various disciplines.
