I am PROMPT certified (level 3). The PROMPT therapy method is the main treatment approach that I utilize for children with suspected and diagnosed CAS. Along with PROMPT, I incorporate Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) and multi-sensory therapy approaches.
My therapy sessions focus on the PROMPT therapy method, with DTTC and other motor planning based therapy techniques pulled into the sessions, as well. I am available for in person therapy, as well as, teletherapy.
I have been working with the CAS community since I took Level 1 of the PROMPT therapy training in 2000. I continued the training and became PROMPT certified in 2004. Over the years, I have built a caseload that consists of at least 80% of my cases being children either diagnosed or suspected of having CAS. I was extremely lucky and honored to have been selected to attend the Apraxia Kids Intensive Training Institute/ Apraxia Bootcamp in August 2016. I completed my case study following bootcamp and am now considered Apraxia Kids Recognized for Advanced Training & Expertise in CAS.
I encourage parents to participate in my sessions. I want the parents to learn the techniques that I utilize with their children. This will help with the carry over of skills in the home. My therapy sessions are not just therapy for the child. They are educational for the parents, as well.
I incorporate the use of sign language in my sessions and will teach the signs to the families of my clients.
