Apply for a Conference Scholarship!

Applications for the 2020 National Conference Scholarships are now open!

Apraxia Kids offers scholarships for parents to attend the 2020 National Conference taking place in Plano, Texas, July 9– 11th. Since 2004, over 300 participants have attended on scholarship thanks to the funds raised through the Walk for Apraxia and the generosity of our donors.

Parents or Guardians of a child diagnosed with childhood apraxia of speech are eligible for a scholarship. Applicants who are attending their first National Conference who demonstrate financial need and applicants who have not received a scholarship in the past receive priority. Apraxia Kids awards only one scholarship per family, and scholarships are not transferable.

“I want to take the time to thank you for choosing me as a recipient of a scholarship for this amazing conference. I walked away from it feeling more confident as a parent and more knowledgeable about my son’s future. I owe that all to your organization.”

“Thank you all so very much for this life-changing event! I learned so much for my son and have already gone back to advocate with the research and classes I took. The classes were great but most of all the people I have made friendships with is priceless! I went to the conference alone and nervous but came out with so much more than I could ever ask! Thanks again for hosting an unforgettable weekend! Thank you for the scholarship to help get me there!”

“I never knew this conference would have such a profound effect on me, but boy did it. I was able to see first-hand all the work that Apraxia Kids does with the donations to help others and I’m more determined than ever to continue my mission of raising awareness and making a difference to help all children with apraxia.”

“Thank you all so much for awarding us the scholarship to attend this conference. It would have been very hard financially for us to attend if we had not received the scholarship. Going to this conference was extremely beneficial. It made us feel less alone and let us know that there is a community out there. Thank you again because this conference gave us even more hope and a clearer vision of our path going forward!”

Applications are due December 31, 2019. Recipients will be notified by January 15, 2020.
