On Our Horizon in February:

A Letter from Our Executive Director

Dear Friends:

I write to you from our very busy office in the hills of Pittsburgh! Our staff is working full speed
ahead and thrilled to have so many exciting things to share with you. From educational opportunities, to scholarships, to volunteer opportunities, to exciting developments – we want to tell you about it all! In this newsletter, you will find information about the following:

  • Our 2018 National Conference is accepting applications for both scholarships to the conference and volunteer positions. As part of our commitment to supporting children with apraxia, we want to help make the Conference accessible to as many parents, professionals, and students.
  • Our February Free Webinar, chosen by YOU in our Apraxia-Kids Facebook group, focuses on developing effective IEP plans for children with apraxia. We are so pleased to be offering a free, rotating webinar every month to provide additional educational support to our community!
  • Our office will be moving in early March to the North Shore of Pittsburgh.  We are
excited to expand our office to serve more.
  • Our new office will include a training facility to bring SLPs, parents, or other professionals together to learn. We are so thrilled for this development to grow under the direction of David Hammer.
  • Our Walk for Apraxia seeks volunteers to help form support committees in over 60 Walk communities. This is an amazing opportunity to help make very special Walk days for hundreds of children across North America.

To find out more information about all of these exciting developments, read on! We thank you for
your continued involvement in our apraxia community, and encourage you to keep a look out for some very exciting news next month. With your help, we remain committed to our work as the only national nonprofit dedicated to children with apraxia of speech. With your help, we will continue to change and grow to be the support that children with apraxia need.

Many thanks for your support,

Angela Grimm
Executive Director
