July 19, 2013

The 2013 National Conference on Childhood Apraxia of Speech is now behind us and over 320 enthusiastic participants headed home to four countries and over 40 states.  Perhaps the most energizing conference yet, attendees were raving about the sessions, speakers, venue, and “lift” that the conference had this year.  Read all about the conference and where we will be next year in 2014! We currently have an open Request for Applications (RFA) for Childhood Apraxia of Speech Research grants. CASANA will award grants to both established researchers, and has added a component to fund up to $5,000 for Ph.D. student dissertation research that is directly related to Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Grant applications are due on August 1, 2013. For more information, click here. Funding for CASANA Apraxia Research Grants is made possible due to funds raised by The Walk for Children with Apraxia®

The Perils of Giving Kids IQ TestsWhat if we started putting our faith and bets behind our students’ effort and potential rather than a two- or three-digit number determined by a single instance of testing?
