Six Year Old Danny Keefe & his “Band of Brothers” inspire the world – All those who care about children with apraxia of speech and other disabilities were brought to tears last week as the story of Danny (who has childhood apraxia of speech) and his friends on the Bridgewater Badgers peewee football team emerged.  According to news reports, when Danny’s friend and team quarterback Tommy Cooney heard Danny was getting picked on because of the way he speaks, he took it upon himself to do something about it and got the whole team involved.  This group of children captured the hearts of the world as the story spread.  Kudos to all of the wonderful children involved with this story and also to the parents who have raised them to be so compassionate! Many parents took to the blogs in order to raise apraxia awareness and to share what it meant to them and to their child. Their writing is quite moving and inspiring.  We’ve tried to capture those writings on a Pinterest Board so that readers can go to one online place to get connected with them.
