CASANA is pleased to announce the availability of Parent Scholarships for the 2009 National Conference on Childhood Apraxia of Speech. The Conference will be held July 9-11, 2009 at The Pheasant Run Resort, St. Charles, Illinois. Through a generous donation from the Washington D.C. law firm of Morrison and Foerster, CASANA will be able to offer up to 16 scholarships, valued at $180 each, to parents of children affected by CAS, to be applied toward the cost of registration for the Conference.
The Scholarship Applications deadline has passed and is closed for the 2009 Conference
How to qualify for a scholarship:
- Interested parents are asked to submit an essay describing “How Childhood Apraxia of Speech Affects the Life of their Child and Family”. The essay should be no less than 1000 words.
- Complete the official Scholarship Application Form
- Submit the essay, application, and optional photograph electronically to kathyb@apraxia-kids.org or by mail to: CASANA c/o 834 N. Meadowcroft Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216, postmarked no later than June 15, 2009. (late applications will not be considered for any reason)
Selected applicants must accept the scholarship by June 20, 2009, register with the Conference Director and pay the remaining $70 registration fee. Upon acceptance, registrants must also sign a release allowing CASANA to post their essay on the Apraxia-Kids website. Applicants may also submit photos to accompany their essay. Only parents or guardians of child with CAS are eligible for a scholarship.
