2nd CENTRAL OHIO WALK FOR APRAXIA!
FROM THE WALK COORDINATOR:
"Imagine being told that your three year old would likely never be able to speak well enough for others to understand him. Or even worse imagine living a world where you know what you want to say but no one understands you when you say it!
My son Cohan was officially diagnosed with Apraxia at age 3. The news was hard for me to hear and even harder for me to understand. I just wanted to help my son unlock his voice and had no idea of know how to do that!
Thanks to CASANA I, and other parents have learned about apraxia therapies, therapists, support groups, the right type of doctors to see, IEP suggestions, and so many other things! I have my own support system right at my finger tips! I have also met other parents facing our same obstacles and have formed lasting friendships.
I wanted to do something locally and help CASANA reach out even more and this 2nd Central Ohio Walk is my emphasis. Cohan has come a long way but has a long way to go! Thanks to CASANA, we, and thousands of other parents, feel like we are on the right path!
Last year we pulled off the 1st Ohio walk with over 300 walkers and raised $25,000! We hope to grow it even bigger this year!" ~Cohan's mom, Tiffany
Join us for the SECOND Ohio walk! All proceeds benefit CASANA Apraxia programs and research. Register by September 4, 2010 to receive your Apraxia Walk T-shirt!
