Georgina Davis and Tara Millet had never heard of childhood apraxia of speech until their own children were diagnosed with it. Georgina Davis’ son, Austin was barely two years old when she first heard this life changing diagnosis. Tara Millet’s daughter, Amanda, was diagnosed at the age of four after a year of speech therapy for a suspected speech “delay.” As the two moms were reaching out for support in their area, they found each other. Georgina and Austin are from Slidell, LA, while Tara and Amanda are from Mandeville, LA. The two families have decided to take their own fears and experiences and turn them into something positive and hopefully reach out to more families who struggle to help their children with this diagnosis. Please join us and help make Louisiana’s first Walk-a-thon for Children with Apraxia of Speech a memorable and successful event.
All proceeds benefit CASANA's apraxia programs and research and are tax-deductible! Register by September 25, 2009 to get your Walk for Apraxia T-shirt at Registration!!
