Unlock our Voice, Open our Future
Imagine not knowing why your child has not met his/her communication goals at each milestone in his/her young life. My son, Luke, was officially diagnosed with apraxia right after his 4th birthday. There was suspicion that Luke suffered from this early on, however, there was no rush for the diagnoses at that point. I was sad that my son would not have the ability to speak intelligibly to others. My family turned to CASANA for information and support.
My goal for committing to coordinate the Central Iowa walk is to be able to bring awareness to this area of the country and to meet other parents who are struggling with the same things. I know that there are others out there in the area. They are not alone. We also want to bring awareness to the community about CASANA and what services and support they can provide. Luke has made progress; however, he has a ways to go. With the help of CASANA, we feel that we are on the right path. Thanks CASANA!!
Join us for this first Iowa walk! All proceeds benefit CASANA Apraxia programs and research.
