First, Thank you for visiting this page.
On August 24, 2011 Kenny and I were given hope. An answer to Justins expressive language delay, he was diagnosed with Severe Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Justin, our bright, intelligent, fun, loving 2 year old knows what he wants to say, has the "language", but can not coordinate the signals his brain sends to the muscles in his face to make the correct sound. Because Justin is so young we are unsure of his prognosis, but are accepting that he may never speak "right". He recieves 3 hours a week of 1-on-1 speech therapy, 1 hour of Special Instruction, and 1 hour of Community Setting Therapy and has made great strides.
Please help us in supporting the research for this little known speech disorder so that other kids can have a voice. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
