Overview of Webinar:

Are you stuck in the same therapy or home practice routines? Is your student or child unmotivated to get practice in? Think no more! This webinar will provide fun and meaningful therapy games, books, and activities to make practice purposeful for children ages 3‐8 years old. Specific multi‐sensory therapy activities and play will be demonstrated with embedded speech goals based on the principals of motor learning. By promoting this meaningful play, children with CAS will not only practice appropriate targets, but they will enjoy your time together and increase carryover in all environments.

Learning Objectives:

As a result of this Webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify therapy and home activities that promote motor learning.
  • Select appropriate target utterances for each therapy activity.

Amanda Zimmerman HeadshotAmanda Zimmerman, MA, CCC‐SLP, is a pediatric speech‐language pathologist at The Columbus Speech & Hearing Center in Columbus, OH. She is a graduate of the CASANA Intensive Training Institute on CAS, and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Speech Language Pathology at The Ohio State University. For over a decade, she has focused on the evaluation and treatment of speech disorders, with a specific interest in Childhood Apraxia of Speech.
