2005 Regional Apraxia Parent Conference

On July 15 and 16, 2005 over 110 parents participated in the 2005 Regional Apraxia Parent Conference near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The campus of Villanova University proved to be a perfect setting for learning, networking, and fun!

Featured speakers Robin Strode and Catherine Chamberlain taught the audience about the diagnosis of CAS, and numerous levels of effective therapy strategies to treat it.  Additionally, Melinda Kotler and Suzanne Hartman, M.A., CCC-SLP provided an excellent presentation regarding the Association Method of therapy and showed video's of children achieving a great deal of success at the Magnolia Speech School Demonstration in Berwyn, PA. Finally, Kathy Bauer, Conference Director and her 15 year-old daughter Kate gave an inspiring and hopeful presentation about Kate's growing up years and her long term outcome.  Special thanks to our teen volunteers Andy, Kate, and Luke and also to Gary and Sharran Novak and Joan Horgan who combined kept the registration, sales, and AV running.
